In icy and snowy driving conditions, the combination of winter tires and snow chains provide a maximum of traction and safety. In order to protect the road from being damaged, snow chains should only be mounted when the road is completely covered by a thick layer of snow. To avoid damage of the vehicle one should not exceed 30 mph.
