This Privacy Policy describes our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information in connection with your use of the websites, emails, and mobile applications ("Site") of Wiki-Safety. When you use the Site, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Wiki-Safety collects and uses information on users only in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

1. Information you submit

We may store the information you submit to or through the Site. We use the information to fulfill your requests, provide Site functionality, improve Site quality, personalize the user experience, display relevant advertising, provide customer support, message you, back up our systems, allow for disaster recovery, and comply with legal obligations. Among the information you submit to or through the Site, please note:

  • Account Registration: You must provide a valid email address in order to sign up for an Account on the Site. In addition, you may provide us with your full name, gender, birth date, address, and telephone number. When you sign up for a Wiki-Safety account, we opt you in to receive emails from Wiki-Safety by default.
  • Public Content: With registration of an account on the Site only your username/nickname will be visible to all users of Wiki-Safety and all other internet users.Your articles, comments, photos, movies, likes, ratings, and other content you post to the Site are meant for public consumption. We may display this content on the Site, and further distribute it to a wider audience through third party sites and services.
  • Personal Data: Wiki-Safety collects and uses personal information (name, e-mail address, address, telephone number, gender, age) in order to understand you better, provide better service to you, to optimize Wiki-Safety and to make the use of the Site more comfortable. For this internal investigations concerning the demography, user interest, and user behavior are conducted. Furthermore, we may use the results of these studies in present or in the future for personalized advertising, for example regional advertising based on the location of the user or on the origin of the user or advertising based on gender. Moreover, the findings about user behavior may also be used for different platforms and possibly as part of a behavioral targeting for targeted placement of advertising. Furthermore, we use anonymized profile information for the targeted placement of advertising.
  • Declaration of Consent: You hereby consent that each time you access Wiki-Safety (no matter which access path is used) your IP address, your login information as well as the time of your access is collected and stored in order to prevent attacks on Wiki-Safety and to resolve such attacks. It may be necessary by law to reveal access information especially in the event the information is requested by investigating agencies (police and prosecutors) for criminal investigation.
  • Disclosure of your Personal Data to Third Parties: The date you have provided us with will not be disclosed or shared outside of Wiki-Safety unless you gave your consent in advance or we are obliged to disclose the data by court.
  • Correction and Deletion of your Personal Data: The user can view, correct, and delete the personal data at any time. Except for the case, when a user requests Wiki-Safety and provides appropriate identification, Wiki-Safety can never change any personal user data. Upon termination of the membership, Wiki-Safety will delete the personal information of the user. To avoid any disruptions the final deletion of the personal data will only be conducted after the end of the fiscal year.
  • Protection and Security of your Personal Data: At Wiki-Safety, only the user himself can access the personal data. For this, the correct username and password are necessary. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet or via mobile device, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

2. Use of Cookies

We may use cookies, web beacons, local shared objects (sometimes called "flash cookies"), and similar technology in connection with your use of the Site ("Cookies"). Cookies are small data files that may have unique identifiers, and reside, among other places, on your computer or mobile device, in emails we send to you, and on our web pages. Cookies may transmit information about you and your use of the Site, such as your browser type, search preferences, data relating to advertisements that have been displayed to you or that you have clicked on, and the date and time of your use. You can disable some (but not all) Cookies in your device or browser settings, but doing so may affect your ability to use the Site.

3. Google Analytics

Technology from the company Google Analytics (www.google.com/analytics) is used on the Site to collect and store data anonymously for marketing and optimisation purposes. The data is used to create pseudonym user profiles. Cookies may be used to collect and store data in a solely anonymous form. The data will not be used to identify any visitor to the Site and will not be kept with information about the bearer of the pseudonym. The data collection and storage can be vetoed at any time with effect for the present and the future.

4. Facebook

Wiki-Safety uses a social plug-in from Facebook to run the Like button. This plug-in is run by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The plug-in can be identified by the Facebook logo. Whenever a Wiki-Safety page containing the Like button is accessed, the browser will establish a connection to a server from Facebook. The social plug-in is sent to the browser, and then is shown within the Wiki-Safety page. Wiki-Safety has no direct influence on the content of the plug-in. Facebook can identify when Wiki-Safety's pages are accessed only if the user is both registered with Wiki-Safety and logged into Facebook. When the Like button is clicked, the information is transmitted to and processed by Facebook. If you do not want Facebook to see when you access certain pages on Wiki-Safety, please log out of Facebook and delete your cookies before you use Wiki-Safety.

5. Sign-On with Facebook and Twitter

We also offer you the possibility to register for Wiki-Safety by using the stored data in your Facebook account via the service "Facebook Connect". In this case a transfer of data through Facebook to us takes place. Your prior consent is necessary for the data transfer. Using this data a new user account is created at Wiki-Safety. Further on, a permanent link between the user accounts of Facebook and Wiki-Safety will be established. A similar service is offered for signing-on using access data used for Twitter (oauth). 6. Third Parties

Advertising and Third Party Cookies: We allow third parties who provide services relating to advertising to use Cookies, as defined above, in connection with your use of the Site. As a result, they may collect and store the same type of information and use it for the same type of purposes as described for Wiki-Safety above, and they may be able to associate the information they collect with other information they have about you from other sources. We do not necessarily have access to or control over the Cookies they use.

The Site may contain links to unaffiliated third party websites. Except as set forth herein, we do not share your personal information with them, and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We suggest you read the privacy policies on all such third party websites.

Despite careful monitoring, we cannot accept liability for the content of external links. The operators of the linked websites carry sole responsibility for their content.

8. Modifications to this Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Site prior to the effective date of the changes. By continuing to access or use the Site after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
