Nachdem wir in Rom den “Mund der Wahrheit” besucht haben, nahmen wir ein am Straßenrand stehendes Taxi um zur nächsten Sehenswürdigkeit zu gelangen. Der Fahrer fuhr los, ohne das Taxameter einzuschalten. Obwohl wir ihn darauf hinwiesen fuhr er weiter. Am Ziel verlangte er den doppelten Preis. Weil wir in Eile waren zahlten wir fast den vollen Betrag. Ich habe gelernt, insbesondere an touristischen Orten vorsichtig zu sein und benutze nur noch an offiziellen Taxistationen parkende Taxis.

It occurred after we visited the Mouth of Truth in Rome.
To get to the next station, we boarded a taxi parked on the street side, which began travelling without starting its meter. Although we pointed this out, the taxi driver could careless, and when we got to the location, we were charged twice the normal rate.
Because we were in a hurry, we paid almost the full amount charged. We learned the lesson not board an unofficial taxi parked near a tourist spot.
