Defined Emergency Response Locations

Maximal precision and accuracy about the location of an emergency is a critical input to the response to an emergency situation. In natural environment without distinct landmarks locating ones position can be very difficult. In the event of an emergency, not beeing able to accurately locate oneself automaticly results in the loss of precious time.

In an attempt to increase public safety on the Island of O'ahu, Hawaii, local authorities have defined Emergency Response Locations along the shore. On beaches you will find such signs stating your emergency response location.
